As far as Airstream kitchens are concerned, this is as small as it gets. Nevertheless, I will not allow that to impede my efforts since I am a bit of a foodie. Make steamed dumplings, cupcakes, braised salmon, roast lamb, stewed chicken, and braised salmon. I make all of my food from scratch. Thanksgiving was my favourite celebration even though I roasted the turkey over a campfire.
Airstream Kitchen Item Rules
The following qualities must be present in every kitchen item:
- As the Airstream travels, items may be tossed and tumbled. A warp-and-bend-resistant item is therefore a good choice.
- It is impossible to break glass or ceramics. A cabinet filled with shattered glass or crockery would be horrible, not to mention difficult to clean.
- The only way to wash dishes in Airstreams is by hand, since there are no dishwashing machines.
- There were two materials we could choose from: metal or plastic.

Just Enough Silverware
We originally designed our silverware set to serve 16 people. During our wedding 15 years ago, they were presented to us along with steak knives. A couple of guests and ourselves should be able to eat what we have. Whenever we need more than that, we would have to use disposables.

Favorite Food Prep Tools
A In my old kitchen, I had a few favourite tools that I brought with me. I stir food while cooking with spatulas to get the last bit of sauce out of the pan. As a result of accidentally leaving my spatula on a hot surface, I prefer heat-resistant spatulas.
