Can You Live Permanently in an RV?

RVs are permanently parked across the country by thousands of people. Others have parked their RV permanently, while others live a nomadic lifestyle. There are no one-size-fits-all RV lifestyles, which is one of the best things about RVing.

When you plan on staying stationary in your RV, you’ll need to determine if it’s legal. A governing agency or county can restrict what they consider a residence or may prohibit people from living in RVs even if they own the land.

How Does RV Living Really Feel?

From marveling at the beauty of the ocean to noticing the smell coming from their tank storage, RVers experience many emotions on their travels.

Adventures are a big part of RV living, and most of them are amazing! The downside is that they’re not always enjoyable. You’re vulnerable to both challenging and exciting experiences when driving your home from one place to another and finding a place to park at night.

There is always the possibility of your “house” blowing a tire, running out of water, or springing a leak that is hard to find. There’s nothing better than being stranded on the side of the road, though the scenery is ever-changing.

There are days when you can post pics on Instagram but others can be challenging or just downright discouraging.

Benefits of Living in an RV

  • There are many joys to be found in RV life. A tiny house on wheels gives you the freedom to move from one place to another at a moment’s notice. When a full-time RVer travels the world full-time, he keeps all the necessities of life always with him, opening up an entire new world.
  • There is no need to pack, make flight arrangements, or make long-term plans. It is phenomenal to have so much freedom.
  • We are constantly being given the opportunity to experience more adventure and to embrace a minimalist lifestyle. By living in an RV, the tethers of “stuff” are removed, allowing a life full of experiences to be replaced with one filled with attachment.
  • A whim can take you from the beach to the mountains in just a few hours, replacing your old routine and rigid schedule.
  • Even though most of us live relatively traditional lives in the same place day after day, there’s something alluring about being on the move. By doing so, you can escape monotony and the daily routines expected of you.
  • It’s for this reason that full-time RVers have such popular blogs, YouTube channels, and Instagram accounts. From childhood through the elder years, we long for adventure and freedom.
  • RVers who are unable or unwilling to travel full-time live vicariously through their blogs and channels. For the static minds, the adventure entertains them and satisfies their longing for existential freedom.
