According to our research, here are our seven top recommendations for camping in New Hampshire. Our boondocking options are also available. You’ll also learn about some other fun and memorable activities along the way.
#1. White Lake State Park
Central New Hampshire’s White Mountains region contains 902 acres of state parkland. Pitch pine trees line the north shore of a glacial lake, where campers can camp under them. White Lake, which has a crystal-clear surface, is a popular spot for swimming, boating, fishing, and hiking. 203 dry campsites are available at the campground, with dirt surfaces, grills, and picnic tables. It is possible to dump waste and use water at the dump station. The campground also has two playgrounds and well-kept bathrooms and showers, but the main attraction is the lake.
#2. Hampton Beach State Park
Besides Hampton Beach State Park, located near the mouth of the Hampton River, there are no RV campgrounds along the New Hampshire coastline. A dedicated swimming area and bathhouses are available at this 50-acre park. There are no primitive camping facilities in New Hampshire’s state parks, unlike many other states. There is a flat and level campground that resembles a parking lot. Additionally, it is near the rocky waterfront and a sand beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach due to its rarity. RVs can hook up to electricity, water, and sewer at 28 full-hookup sites. The use of pop-up tents and pop-ups is therefore prohibited. Camping facilities include tables and grills, bathrooms, and general stores.
#3. Pawtuckaway State Park
It has an area of approximately 5,000 acres and is located about 40 miles east of Manchester. There are forests and marshes surrounding the lake, and the beach is 600 feet long. This field was made famous by glaciers that deposited boulders here ages ago. Views of the landscape can be enjoyed from mountaintop observation towers. Camping is available at approximately 200 sites without hookups, but many of them have water views. There are only a few amenities, including coin-operated showers. You can also rent canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats, as well as launch a boat.
#4. Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort
There are 300 forested waterfront campsites at this private campground in eastern New Hampshire near the Lakes Region. Despite its upscale appearance, the Bluffs at Danforth Bay is open to everyone. There is a pond on the grounds for swimming and fishing, as well as hiking and biking. At the campground, the voltage is available in three variations: 20 volts, 30 volts, and 50 volts. Rentals of boats and golf carts are available at the general store. A game room and cable TV are available. Additionally, there is a dog run. Pets that are well-behaved and friendly are welcome at Danforth Bay, according to its website.
#5. RiverBrook Campground and RV Park
A nice mountain view can be enjoyed from this resort located on the Baker River. It is located near the city of Rumney, just 400 yards from Interstate 93. In the nearby area, you can swim, boat, fish, and hike. A large, grassy site (65 feet by 30 feet) is suitable for large rigs. There are full hookups and free Wi-Fi at this campground. The river is directly accessible from the campsites, and fire rings and picnic tables are provided. A variety of additional facilities are available, including a playground, basketball courts, and horseshoe pits.
